Forever Wedding values the protection of your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data do we collect?

2.1 Registered users

When you create an account with Forever Wedding, we collect the following data:

  • Name and email address
  • Password (stored encrypted)
  • Company name and phone number (for business accounts)
  • Payment information (processed via Stripe; we do not store payment details ourselves)
  • IP address and login times

2.2 Guests (photo uploaders)

Guests who upload photos via a QR code do not need to create an account. We process:

  • The name the guest enters, and an optional message
  • Uploaded photos and associated metadata (file name, time, file size)
  • IP address (to prevent abuse)

2.3 Website visitors

When you visit our website, we process:

  • Technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited
  • Cookie data, see our cookie policy
  • A record of your cookie consent: an anonymous visitor ID, your choice (essential or all), the time and your IP address, stored as a GDPR audit trail

3. Why do we process this data?

We process personal data on the following legal grounds:

  • Performance of a contract: to manage your account and deliver the service, including service emails such as the welcome email and a congratulation email with tips on the morning of your wedding;
  • Legal obligation: for accounting and tax purposes;
  • Legitimate interest: for fraud prevention, security and improving the service;
  • Consent: for placing optional cookies such as Google Analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time on the cookie policy page.

4. How long do we retain your data?

  • Account data: kept for as long as your account is active. After cancellation, data is deleted within 90 days.
  • Guest photos: kept during the gallery access period of the plan and up to 90 days after that period ends or the plan is cancelled.
  • Payment data: kept for the statutory retention period of 7 years.
  • Log files: kept for a maximum of 30 days.

5. Sharing with third parties

Forever Wedding only shares your data with third parties where necessary to provide the service or where required by law:

  • Stripe: for processing payments. Stripe has its own privacy policy.
  • Google Analytics: when you consent to analytical cookies, anonymised usage data is shared with Google LLC. Google Analytics uses Consent Mode v2, so no data is stored before consent is given. You can opt out at any time via the opt out tool of Google.
  • Hosting and storage providers: for storing data and photos on secure servers.
  • Email service: for sending transactional emails.

Forever Wedding never sells your data to third parties.

6. Cookies

Forever Wedding uses cookies and similar technologies. Please read our cookie policy for a full explanation of which cookies we use and why.

7. Security

Forever Wedding takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS and TLS)
  • Encrypted password storage (bcrypt)
  • Access controls on our servers
  • Regular security reviews

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Access: you have the right to know what data we process about you.
  • Rectification: you can have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Erasure: you can ask us to delete your data (the right to be forgotten).
